Studio Hours: Season For Knitting

Hi guys! Stopping by to share a little knitting inspiration. Knitting is a relatively new things to me (only been doing it for 2 years now), but I’m addicted.

I don’t have any super skills, but I do love plopping myself in front of the TV and mindlessly crafting a cozy scarf. Maybe I’ll get a little more adventurous this winter.

Here are a few “must see” knitting things –>

First, my Friend Emma Robertson (Emmadime) has just realized her book on Knitting that is available on Amazon. The book is beautiful and all photography was shot by Max Wagner. Congrats Emma!

Second, if you are a new knitter just starting out, you must watch the Β Wool & The Gang how-to videos. Incredibly helpful and easy to follow –>Β
IΒ also found the book Stitch n’ Bitch to be really informative.

Third-ly, If you are wanting some inspiration as to what to make, you can check out my “knitted” Pinterst board. Are these massive yarns just gorgeous!

  1. Now I’m daydreaming about getting back into knitting β€” I don’t know if that’s a round cowl there, but I think I need to go find some super soft yarn and make that my Christmas project. I gave up knitting in the grade school after spending a couple almost all-nighters knitting scarves for my friends as Christmas presents. Procrastination and promises will do that to you πŸ˜‰ Thanks for the inspiration!

  2. I’m currently knitting a whole blanket. Amsterdam’s Winters are THAT cold…
The only problem is, piles of yarn in baskets are so pretty and add such a poetic touch in my living room that I kind of don’t want to finish my blanket so they can stay there forever…

  3. My friend tried to teach me to knit and I just don’t have delicate fingers lol. Kudos to you talented ladies who are able to make such creative things! Perhaps someday I’ll try to knit again but until then, I can always drool over your blog. πŸ™‚

  4. Love the muted colours and textures of the yarn & knitting. I just picked up knitting recently and these links are beyond helpful, thank you!

  5. I love crocheting. I always say I want to learn how to knit, but I’ve been saying this for many years (will end up learning when I’m a grandma, at this pace). Anyway, can’t wait to see your knit creations! πŸ™‚

  6. Knitting is so fun! It keeps me company on cold nights, lazy afternoons and, when I used to travel, on the long hours on the train/ship. Crocheting is fun too, and a bit easier to carry around πŸ˜‰ xoxo

  7. i didn’t know you were a knitter too! emma’s book is on my christmas wishlist. i’ve really just recently started up again and have been digging into the pattern booklets by good night, day. more suuuper beautiful projects if you’re looking for an adventure πŸ™‚

    1. I’ll have to check out that brand. I usually knit as a mindless activity so I haven’t really attacked anything complicated yet. Thanks for sharing!
