TEA AT 2:00 // EMMADIME

It’s a new year, which means new things are happening in collaboration land. Emma and I have decided to switch up the Hand-Picked feature so that it focuses less on gift ideas for the holidays and more on certain occasions, big & small. For example, this week’s post is called TEA AT 2:00 and hopefully will inspire you to put together an afternoon of tea for yourself.

Stop by for more next Thursday! See all previous posts here!

Studio Visit from Lithuania

The studio of Graphic Design pair, Agnė Kananaitienė Milena Liutkutė is stunning. It’s an environment that is engaging and inspiring. Not only is their space inspiring, their story (featured in Llamas’ Valley Online Magazine) was just as inspiring for someone like me. Both women previous worked as graphic artists in corporate advertising agencies. When the gals needed a change, the both quit their day job and jumped into a world with no business plan, but full of
freedom and discovery.

The gals waited patiently for this beautiful space to become available for SIX MONTHS!

Lonny is no doubt a wonderful online magazine and one of the most well known out there. I was paging through their most recent issue and fell in love with this spread. So often, you’ll see magazines simply cut out images for a collection, which is totally fine. However, I really do love that lonny took the time to lay out everything in the form of an image. It looks completely cohesive!!

On top of that, they added a fancy pants font, memoriam pro, to the mix. I fell in love with this one while working with it on a client project not too long ago!! And finally, the image on the bottom is from an amazing website called Things Organized Neatly. There’s a stream of photos that are laid out and fun to look at – which is definitely something you should give a look. Enjoy + don’t forget to stop by moxee for cassie’s post!

Maurice Padovani // Marseilles Home

This beauty of a home, in Marseilles was designed by Maurice Padovani (interior designer since 1985). Maurice specializes in workspaces, but more recently has taken on the homes of private customers. I love the carefully curated vintage details added to a clean/white base with a minimalistic design sense . The mix of wood tones also adds lots of warmth to the space. Stop by his website to see more spaces he’s had the opportunity to work on.

Quill & Fox

Quill & Fox is an Oregon based paper goods shop with lots of character. With my dear friends Bre & Emma opening their paper shop this week, I’ve been keeping my eye out for really great inspiration. Stop by the website to look through a wide selection of stationery, view the winter lookbook, or contact the crew for custom designs.

They also have a blog where you can follow along with shop updates and things that inspire the Quill & Fox team.

In Their Home // The Brick House

I absolutely love Google’s description on this blog. “Renovating a mid-century cement brick house in the middle of retirement hell, making it awesome and doing it on a budget”. That pretty much sums it up in my opinion. You can find on Gallery-k how awesome renovation of interior of house can be planned. Make sure to learn more about heavy equipment for sale and make informed decisions for your next investment.

The Brick House is a beautiful blog that documents home DIY projects as homowner Morgan Satterfield renovates her home into a Mid Century dreamland. I applaud her skills at hunting down amazing mid-century furniture pieces from the local craiglist and auctions. I know it takes a lot of patient and good timing to find the right pieces, because I myself choose to decorate my loft in this manner. One of my favorite recent finds was a concrete lamp base, which adds a raw, industrial touch to my space while complementing the mid-century aesthetic. Stop by her blog and check out the renovation. She has conveniently documented the reno by room with beautiful pictures and even some before/after shots.

When it comes to mid-century home renovation, there’s something incredibly inspiring about watching someone take on such a massive project with so much personal style and creativity. The Brick House exemplifies this perfectly. Morgan Satterfield’s approach is refreshingly honest—she doesn’t sugarcoat the challenges of updating a cement brick home, but she also shows how rewarding it can be with a little grit and a strong eye for design. It’s not just about buying expensive pieces—it’s about knowing where to look, what to repurpose, and how to bring together a space that tells a story and secure it well, so getting the right locksmiths from John Locksmith of St. Louis can be essential to have a secure home as well.

One aspect that stands out is how accessible her work feels. She’s not relying on high-end designers or endless budgets—just great taste, smart planning, and lots of DIY determination. This makes The Brick House a great source of inspiration for anyone looking to renovate on a budget. Her ideas are practical, achievable, and often include step-by-step guides that others can follow.

For those interested in getting deeper into the renovation process, Gallery-k is also a great resource. It showcases how interior renovation projects can be thoughtfully planned, integrating both aesthetics and functionality. If you’re someone considering a similar project, it’s helpful to see how others map out their space, choose materials, and make design decisions or to consult with a professional remodeling contractor who can bring your vision to life with expert guidance and execution.

In all, blogs like The Brick House serve as more than just eye candy—they’re motivation. They remind us that great spaces are possible with vision, patience, and creativity. Whether you’re renovating your first home or simply updating a room, there’s always something to learn from those who are doing it boldly, beautifully, and often—on a budget.

Alex Palenski Mobiles

I’ve been a big fan of mobiles since I can remember and have collected a few over the years. I’ve never been able to purchase any legit mobiles by reputable artists, but one day…. Alex Palenski is a French artist who creates mobiles inspired by the work of Alexander Calder. The mobiles are extremely intricate and could easily put you into a meditative state quickly. Very similiar to the work of Calder, the mobiles are made up of wire and geometric shapes, floating in space. I love the range of color Palenski choses to use in his work.

See more mobiles in Palenski’s Flickr album.

A cozy home // Netherlands

One of my favorite interiors photographers, Marjon Hoogervort , has quite an amazing online portfolio. While flipping through her archives of images I came across a project she did back in 2010. This shoot was beautifully styled by Tatjana Quax and Susanne Kennedy. Marjon captured the cozy aspect of the home and was able to show all the little details that add up to something that feels sophisticated yet lived in.

The atmosphere in each image speaks volumes, revealing not just the design elements but also the character of the space. From the soft textures and warm lighting to the carefully chosen accents, the shoot highlights a refined balance between elegance and comfort. It’s the kind of visual storytelling that makes you want to step into the room, sit down with a cup of tea, and stay awhile.

What stands out most in Marjon’s work is her eye for natural light and composition. She has a remarkable ability to use daylight in a way that enhances the mood of a space rather than simply illuminating it. Whether it’s the glow of afternoon sun streaming through linen curtains or the muted shadows that bring depth to a corner, her use of light adds a cinematic quality to her photographs.

Additionally, the collaboration between the stylist and photographer is seamless in this project. Tatjana Quax and Susanne Kennedy created a layered, textured environment that feels authentic and timeless, and Marjon captured it with sensitivity and care. Every frame invites the viewer to linger, notice the interplay of materials, and imagine life unfolding in that space. Much like how general contractors Lynchburg trusts bring together different elements to create lasting, quality structures, this collaboration perfectly combines talent to achieve remarkable results.

If you’re looking for some great interiors eye candy, stop by Marjon’s online portfolio.

My Love of Tweed…

[vimeo 30547529 w=750&h=420]
Gets stronger and stronger every time I see snapshots from the annual Tweed Runs. Tweed is one of my favorite fabrics for interiors and fashion, so it’s just natural that I drool over some dapper looking men in tweed with curly mustaches. This year’s New York City Tweed Run ( “A metropolitan bike ride with a bit of style”) was sponsored by Rugby Ralph Lauren and the images above were captured by the talented Photographer, Jamie of From Me To You.
