To Resolve Project

The To Resolve Project is a project created by Chris Streger in an effort to gather New Year’s resolutions from talented designers. Each image was supposed to be designed as a reminder that you would then place on your iPhone. After it’s first successful year, the TO Resolve Project is back with another handful of great designs/resolutions.

Feeling up to the challenge of creating your own background. Download a template HERE and have some fun. NO Restrictions! Go HERE to submit your design!

* The above images are just some of my favorites from this year’s submissions. Please visit the website to see who created each image and many more submissions!

A Steady Hand // Dana Tanamachi

[vimeo 20042831 w=750&h=420]

I’ve been seeing Dana’s hand lettering chalk work pop up all over the place ( tweed run, westelm catalogue, etc) and I’m blown away at her skill. When I think of chalk, I think of bright colors swirling down the neighborhood streets, but Dana’s work takes that idea to a whole new level. Stop by her website to see more recent project and keep an eye out for more to come.

Judy Kaufmann // Some of my favs

I’ve been following the work of illustrator Judy Kaufmann ( from Barcelona) for some time now. She specializes in drawing animals, people, houses, cars, and anything in repetitious pattern. I’ve been eyeing the two prints in this post for my home office, especially the neighborhood print (bottom print).

More recently I discovered Judy also writes daily on her blog called Prints and Prints. Her little space of the internet is truly inspiring and I can’t wait to own a print for myself.

Stop by her SHOP.
See what she’s up to on her BLOG.
Keep up to date on new illustrations on her WEBSITE!

Quill & Fox

Quill & Fox is an Oregon based paper goods shop with lots of character. With my dear friends Bre & Emma opening their paper shop this week, I’ve been keeping my eye out for really great inspiration. Stop by the website to look through a wide selection of stationery, view the winter lookbook, or contact the crew for custom designs.

They also have a blog where you can follow along with shop updates and things that inspire the Quill & Fox team.

Alex Palenski Mobiles

I’ve been a big fan of mobiles since I can remember and have collected a few over the years. I’ve never been able to purchase any legit mobiles by reputable artists, but one day…. Alex Palenski is a French artist who creates mobiles inspired by the work of Alexander Calder. The mobiles are extremely intricate and could easily put you into a meditative state quickly. Very similiar to the work of Calder, the mobiles are made up of wire and geometric shapes, floating in space. I love the range of color Palenski choses to use in his work.

See more mobiles in Palenski’s Flickr album.

Depeapa Illustrations

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect mix of artwork for my home office area. I want it to be a mix of bold geometric patterns, typographic posters, and minimal illustrations. I came across Depeapa prints/illustrations and immediately added Veronica’s work to my Etsy favorites. A couple of her prints have stolen my heart and now I have the challenge of deciding which one I want. I’m thinkin’ the man and the chicken is pretty snazzy.

Caroline Gomez

I’m somewhat back from taking a few days disconnected from the computer. I hope everyone had as nice of Christmas as I did and are enjoying the time with their families. Let’s get back to the good stuff 😉

Caroline Gomez is a Designer who lives in Bordeaux France. Caroline creates functional pieces made of wood . They are beautifully crafted and I’d love to own one of each. She also has a talent for creating whimsical print designs.

Sweet Paul Magazine // Favorite Spreads

Sweet Paul Magazine is an (FREE) electronic magazine with over 100 pages (almost 200 pages) of sugary goodness. The magazine is run by Paul Lowe, a man with really great taste and a very successful blog. Sweet Paul’s blog has become one of the top reads for editors, foodies, and stylists. In the latest holiday issue you get a good amount of DIYs, easy recipes, entertaining ideas and other holiday eye candy to peruse. You won’t be disappointed.

Black & White Christmas

This year I have been inspired by Black & White Christmas decorations, wrapping, and gifts. Black & white isn’t your typical color palette when it comes to the holidays, but it sure is a good change of pace to the traditional red & green. It’s refreshing to see that by simply changing a color palette, you can have a whole new take on decorating.

Stay tuned for a sneak peek at my holiday wrapping that was inspired by all this black & white inspiration. (Coming Soon)
