spring DIY adventure

Sometimes you just have to pick an idea and run with it. I don’t know about you, but I’ve got an inspiration book that is as thick as a dictionary and none of it is being put to use. I collect images here and there and say “someday…I’m going to do this/make this”.

Well this spring is time for me to jump in. I’ve narrowed down my home renters to-do list to a manageable 3 things that are all doable and should be relatively inexpensive to make happen. The list includes: art wall, dog bed & unique clothing storage. I’m excited!

I’ll keep you guys posted on the progress and hope to post some DIYs along the way.

Do you guys have any spring DIY projects that you are just dying to mark off the list? I’d love to hear all about them!

  1. The out in the open branch closet is a stunner! I’d love to see you put that together. I’m also a big fan of the art wall. I have one in my craft room actually. The larger piece with the boy in the hat is a print that my grandma has had for years. I’ve come across it a couple times at thrift shops and I never pick it up (and regret it every single time). Next time I see it it’s totally mine!

  2. The painted white branch is something I’ve been wanting to do for awhile, I’m thinking near the front door in lue of a proper closet! I also have been dying to create some wooden pallet furniture, but i read that you must be very careful not to choose a cheap chemical treated pallet because it will leach into your air, that made me a little nervous, so I’ve been putting it off!

  3. REALLY love that art wall!

I plan on getting back into sewing, and doing Rachel Denbow’s Modern Patchwork course that Red Velvet offers for a pretty cheap price. I’m excited about the first project, which is a patchwork stuffed dinosaur/pillow!

  4. I love the idea for the dog bed!! Yesterday on my way home from work I stumbled upon a discarded wooden skid (just like the one in the picture) but I couldn’t think of what I could do with it. It was calling for some sort of DIY though. Thanks for the idea!
