Inspired By: DIY Projects To Try

I wanted to thank everyone for the sincere comments yesterday. You guys made “launch day” really special, so Thanks!

On another note, I’ve always been a big DIY-er, especially when I find myself with a little extra down time. I’d always prefer to try and make something rather than spending the money on it. I’ve got a whole Pinterest board dedicated to a few DIYs I’d like to try in the future.

The DIY projects above are a few I’ve been eyeing recently. I love how simple each one is, but how much of an impact you get with the result. Most of them use very limited materials, so I’m assuming the cost to complete them is minimal.

Have you guys been thinking about tackling any DIYs recently. I’d love to see what you have in mind!

  1. Props to you girl for being a DIY’er. I always secretly envy those girls who can create anything from nothing. These are so stunning and seem simple enough that I might do one (or have my husband do one). Funny enough my husband designs tools that a lot of DIY’ers / artisans use (dremel) and he is more into DIY than I am. i like to buy he likes to DIY. Go figure. xx Alecia

  2. Hmmmm, not you got me thinking, that Flush Mount light fixture is really cool, almost looks like a submarine window. This is a project I must do as well, great find….

P.S. love the new blog, what a GREAT look, fits your design style to a “T”

  3. I love DIY-ing, but I don’t get to do it all that often. Most of my DIY Pinterest board is made up of home decor type things! I actually did a 3 canvas piece for my living room last month off of a DIY idea! 🙂

  4. Oh love the copper vase! I’m still filling up our space with DIY furniture – basically any time I can get a good deal on an old piece I start fantasizing about what colour I’ll paint it and what kind of knobs I’ll add. 😀 I just finished this one: http://lauravanderwel.blogspot.ca/2013/09/dresser-refinishing.html.

As for future projects, I’ve got my eye on a new duvet for our bed, and I am already on the hunt for fabrics I can create pillows out of. Throw pillows are the most ridiculously priced home decor item out there – And so easy to make!

    1. Ohhh..I love the dresser and those handles are great! I love seeing how other people transform things.

I’m on the hunt for fabric for pillows as well. I’m not much of a sewer, so this will be an interesting project. Cross your fingers for me and best of luck on your next projects!
